Crown Princess Mary Meets WHO Regional Director

In her role as patron of the World Health Organisation, regional office for Europe, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark today held a meeting with regional director for Europe Dr Hans Kluge.

During the meet, Mary received a briefing on the fight against the pandemic across Europe and on a global level. Dr Kluge raised other health challenges and spoke about the strain on the system caring for a number of serious health issues. The expertise of the World Health Organisation has been brought to the fore over the past year as countries all over the world look to them for advice amid the pandemic.

Mary has been patron since 2006 when she said, "As a mother I want to ensure that my child has every opportunity to grow up healthy and vaccinated against those diseases that can so easily be controlled. As patron, I want to ensure that this opportunity is given to every child in the European Region, and that we also reach those vulnerable groups that continue to exist. It is the right of every child to be immunized." Mary was also interested to hear about vaccination plans. As part of European Immunization Week 2008, Crown Princess Mary attended a launching ceremony in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 23 April of that year. Addressing members of the diplomatic corps she spoke about the importance of immunization. "I hope that the countries within the [European Region] will act quickly and effectively to ensure that children and adults, especially those in vulnerable and hard-to-reach groups, have access to immunization and basic health services.

Mary was stylish in black and pink.

Mary's jacket is Sandro's fringe-trimmed metallic tweed jacket (a great ID by Heaven).

Mary wore her pink Hugo Boss Banora blouse, which we've seen her sporting on several occasions.

Heaven also spotted that Mary carried a Prada Saffiano bag.

  1. Mary looks amazing in those specs, such an interesting shape frame! Her WHO meeting outfit is just great with that fab sparkly tweed Sandro jacket. The Hugo Boss Banora blouse is as elegant as ever and the Prada bag is to die for. The whole looks spot on with pants for a business meeting, nicely softened by the pink of the blouse.
