A Family Fun-Filled Summer Photocall for the Dutch Royals

The Dutch royals held their annual summer photo-call at their residence Huis ten Bosch today.

As you would expect from King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, it was filled with fabulous photos and fun moments.

Amalia, born Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria is the couple's eldest daughter.

The sixteen-year-old is the heir to the throne and thus styled the Princess of Orange. We talked about King Felipe and Queen Letizia's daughter Leonor last night and her path as a future monarch. Europe is going to have several reigning queens in the future. I love this photo of Willem-Alexander and Amalia, representing both father and daughter and the King and his heir.

It's understood the family plan to holiday in Greece starting this weekend. The photo-calls serve multiple purposes - both ensuring the children and particularly Amalia as heir are seen regularly by the public and ensuring the family are not harassed in their private lives.

The family chose a palette of white and light blue. Máxima wore a stylish white trouser suit while Amalia was in a Self-Portrait shirtdress, Alexia in Tommy Hilfiger, and Ariane in a white Maje mini dress.

Earlier this week, Queen Máxima visited the Netherlands' Veterans Institute wearing a chic ensemble by her favourite designer, Natan.


A royal spokesperson noted: "The Veterans Institute makes veterans visible in society and offers them a platform to share their experiences on a mission, but also back in the Netherlands. The institute plays a connecting role among the veterans themselves, but also forms the link to the home front, the service providers and society."


Máxima spoke with veterans, service providers and volunteers about the various aspects of veteran work and organizing and participating in activities by veterans.

    Love me some QMax!! what a fun looking family. they just appear so natural. nice to see their daughters and I think doing the photos calls more often is a good idea, especially if it does work in not having the press invade their daily lives. really loving all this royal family diversity!

    They always look so happy and love the colour coordination! That Maje mini dress is so sweet on Ariane, they are all such beautiful girls. Maxima looks tremendously businesslike in her monochrome Natan outfit earlier.

Crown Princess Mary Returns to Engagements After Summer Break

One of my favourite royals and a lady I know is very popular among readers is Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. So, I know you'll all be pleased to hear she made her first post-summer break appearance today for a special service marking Christiansfeld's 250th anniversary in Southern Jutland. King Felipe and Queen Letizia Host Elegant Reception at Marivent Palace

The King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by Queen Sofia, hosted an elegant evening reception for representatives from a plethora of sectors, charities, and organisations from the Balearic Islands. Sofia was regal as always in a flowing outfit. The gathering was held at Marivent Palace (meaning Palace of Sea and Wind), the summer residence of the Spanish royal family.  The palatial residence was designed by the architect Guillem Forteza Pinya in the early 1920s, commissioned by the painter Juan de Saridakis, who lived there until his death. Guillem's widow, Anunciación, gave the building and its land to the Balearic Provincial Council in 1966, and shortly after, it became a favourite location for the royals. Princess Grace of Monaco's Dazzling 40th Birthday Party
