King Felipe and Queen's Leitzia's Mexico Visit, It's PDA and Smiles in Monaco & Latest British Royals News!

We have a selection of updates from several royal families to share with you in today's Royal Roundup!

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain travelled to Mexico for a three-day state visit and Letizia did not disappoint in the style department - selecting an array of chic, sophisticated ensembles. Upon arrival, the couple were officially welcomed by President Enrique Pena Nieto and the glamorous First Lady Angelica Rivera in Mexico City's Campo Marte military camp.

That evening, the President and First Lady welcomed the King and Queen to the National Palace for a dinner hosted in their honour. Queen Letizia chose a dazzling one-shoulder red dress by her go-to designer Felipe Varela. The dress is made from guipure lace and detailed with tonal Swarovski crystals

Continuing the trend, Letizia chose a Felipe Varela skirt suit for a luncheon at the Palace.

The royals signed an agreement of the implementation of the Spanish Teaching System for Foreigners during a visit to the Universidad Nacional. Aside from the red Varela dress, this was my favourite look from the trip. Letizia chose a white and burgundy floral print skirt with a stylish burgundy blouse.

On the final day of their trip, Queen Letizia attended a congress of the Latin American Alliance for Rare Diseases before joining her husband where he gave a speech in front of members of the Mexican Senate.

What did you think of Letizia's style during the trip?

Over in Monaco, it's been a week of heart-warming PDA photos beginning with this adorable shot of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene at a Water Safety event organised by Princess Charlene's foundation.

Ninety children aged 7 to 11 participated in the event and took part in a variety of workshops with the royals promoting awareness and the risks of swimming, along with basic first aid skills. Charlene appeared to have a wonderful time on the day.

Despite recent rumours reporting Charlotte Casiraghi and her partner Gad Elmalah have parted ways - the couple showed they remain very much an item at the 10th Monte-Carlo Jumping - Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco.

The talented Charlotte participated this year and her mother Princess Caroline supported her daughter at the event.

Prince Albert joined his niece to hand the cup over to the winners of the tournament.

We also take a brief look at recent appearances by members of the British Royal family. Princess Beatrice repeated the RED Valentino Trench Coat she wore at Sandringham for the annual Christmas service for the Formula E Race for electric cars in London. The Princess was accompanied by her mother, Sarah Ferguson.

Beatrice chose a long sleeve black floral-print romantic dress by Reformation for the NSPCC Neo-Romantic Art Gala. The 'Veronica' dress is now sold out.

The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princess Eugenie photographed at the start of an auction during a 'Travels To My Elephant' Royal Rickshaw Event in support of the Elephant Family, a charity set up by the late Mark Shand, the Duchess of Cornwall's brother.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cornwall's appearance at the Hampton Court Flower Show with an ice-cream cone in hand perfectly captures the glorious weather we're enjoying right now!

The Countess of Wessex made a stylish appearance at the Future Dreams Midsummer Night Party at SushiSamba. The fabulous HRH Countess of Wessex blog noted Sophie wore an Emilia Wickstead blouse and an Oscar de le Renta Broderie Anglaise skirt. It is reduced from $2,390 to $979 at Moda Operandi.

Finally, Her Majesty the Queen was greeted by a Guard of Honour from the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland as she arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the start of Holyrood Week.

On another note, I was pleased to see the Queen mentioned in July's Vogue UK issue for her love of stylish pink ensembles. :)

  1. Thanks for a great post Charlotte!! I have to say that Leti is my new favorite royal, her style is impeccable and her posture, wow! I have to say after following her since the coronation my posture has greatly improved thanks to her example. I love the red dress on her, that color is the best on her imo with the burgundy a close second.

I love seeing the PDA between Charlene and Albert. It appears that the birth of their children has brought them closer together and more affectionate than ever.

I'm not a huge fan of Sophie's outfit, maybe if the skirt was a bit shorter but this length makes it look a bit dowdy. And did she steal that purse from her daughter's doll collection?? I understand wanting to carry a small bag but this one is so small it looks useless.

The Queen looks lovely as always. I know that gloves are rather old fashioned but I love seeing her wear them. She is able to take a style that has long passed and somehow keep in fresh and appropriate.

    Working in reverse:
Love the queen's pink and green. She looks splendid. The queen does have to shake hands a great deal and I think the gloves are part protection for that. (As someone who has painful hands from arthritis, I really admire how the queen can do so well with her hands at her age.)
Sophie's outfit looks like something I would wear, although not at even those reduced prices. Don't think that's a complement but glad long skirts are coming back into fashion. The outfit looks a bit heavy for a Misummer;s Night party - I'm thinking a more summery blouse would help. I prefer Sophie's hair worn looser but always glad to see what she's up to.
Don't care for Beatrice's hippy outfit. Some people do edgy better than others.

Camilla looks nice and fresh - a rare complement from me - but I think ice cream eating is probably best avoided in public appearances, other than a discreet lick. I suppose she doesn't care how she appears and maybe there is something to be said for that.

Charlene does look so much happier - I'm thinking the stress of wanting to be a mother was causing a lot of what was seen as unhappiness. She always does so well with children with her swimming charities and nice to see her and Albert together.
Hope Charlotte and Gad are likewise happy and aren't just putting on appearances.

I was not initially a fan of Letizia's but her dedication to her work, her appearances with her children and the fabulous appearence have made a convert out of me. I loved all the outfits worn in Mexico - so sophisticated, elegant and yet not at all flashy. I particularly love that green dress with a tweed jacket, the red lace and the dark coat over red. And she is making the most of her new short hairstyle. If you had told me back in 2011, I would cherish some doubts about Kate but be a big fan of Letizia's, I wouldn't have believed you, but things do change and can change again.
A wonderful round-up Charlotte, so much appreciate what you are doing. A steller job.

  3. The red suit on Letizia is my favorite of her outfits featured here. The color and cut is fantastic! And I am surprised at my own statement here, but I do like the gown on Beatrice and Sarah's suit (it's both fun and flattering). Sophie's skirt is nice, but it may look better on someone taller.

And I think Camilla is going for the title Queen of Taste Testing. :)
