Queen Margrethe Presents the Ragna Rask-Nielsen Award

On Tuesday, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark was at the Academy of Sciences in Copenhagen to present the Ragna Rask-Nielsens Research Foundation Prize.

This year the award was made to Professor Olaf Olsen for his work in archaeological and historical research. Professor Olsen was Director of the National Museum and Imperial Antiquarian from 1981 to 1995.

Doctor Ragna Rask-Nielsen (1900-1998), after whom the award is named, was a Danish biochemist who undertook pioneering work investigating leukaemia and how carcinogens were responsible for the formation of cancerous tumours.

  1. Wow, what a bright red jacket Margrethe is wearing. I had to tone down the brightness setting on my computer just to view the pictures lol.
