Denmark's Hussar Guards Regiment Celebrates 400 Years

A large military parade greeted Queen Margrethe II and Henrik, Prince Consort of Denmark when they arrived at Antvorskov Barracks in Slagelse for the 400th anniversary celebration of the Hussar Guards Regiment.

The royal couple inspected the guard before watching manoeuvres and afterwards attended a service for the regiment at Saint Michaels Church in Slagelse.

It was a cool and overcast day but Queen Margrethe was well dressed for the occasion in a sleek white coat with matching hat, complemented by grey gloves, shoes and a chain-link bag.

  1. Interesting item. She looks like a queen. The coat, btw, seems to have fur (or perhaps faux) collar and down the front. Classy and elegant.

  3. What a beautiful coat!! I wonder why she is carrying one glove, why not put it on? I have to say I was hoping that she might abdicate so that we could see CP Mary crowned Queen. :)

I love her winter white coat. I'm thinking it's considered polite to take off your gloves to shake hands but I'm not sure. Don't think Queen Elizabeth does. Maybe manners in Denmark are different.
