Sweden's Royals Turn on the Style for Polar Music Prize Awards

We do love a royal evening gown appearance and fashion fans were treated to a triple dose of spectacular finery for the annual Polar Music Prize festivities. It is Sweden's most prestigious award for musicians, founded by the late ABBA manager Stig Anderson.

However, two of the trio of royal ladies were notably absent from the actual ceremony, instead opting to attend the after party at the Grand Hotel. The Queen and Princess Madeleine decided to boycott the prestigious ceremony due to the criminal past of one of the winners, U.S. rock 'n' roller Chuck Berry. The 87-year-old was found guilty of human trafficking involving a 14 year old girl in 1960.

Madeleine's husband Chris O'Neill did attend the ceremony.

Crown Princess Victoria looked feminine in a sleeveless lace dress from the H&M Conscious Collection.

The pretty frock has become something of a favourite for the Crown Princess who wore it in black earlier this year. Princess Mette-Marit also selected it for a gala in New York.

Madeleine's Ida Sjostedt embellished gown with full skirt received mixed reviews. It appears to be a bespoke piece with many elements taken from a shorter frock from the designer's Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection.

What do you think of these looks?

  1. Your back! I like the black H&M dress. The others ones are alright, nothing special in my book.
