Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine Team Up To Learn More About Children's Rights

Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine teamed up to visit Ersta Child Rights Bureau in Sweden last week. Silvia is very much an advocate for children's rights and supporting their welfare and has built on that throughout her life as a career. It's clearly something her daughter Madeleine feels equally passionate about. Not only is she a mother, but she works as a project manager with Childhood USA, an organisation founded by Silvia in 2009. While Madeleine may not reside in Sweden (she lives in New York with her husband Chris and their baby), it's fantastic she has chosen to work for the non-profit group and continue her mother's work.

Staff and volunteers discussed ongoing issues and current progress with the royals during their visit. Young people shared their experiences with the organisation and how they were helped thanks to support, advice and a multitude of resources.

Both ladies looked professional and understated for the engagement. Madeleine chose a fitted pair of black pants with a matching blazer and a loose fitting cream blouse.

We'll discuss Madeleine's work with Childhood USA in depth in a future post. For those who are not particularly familiar with her, I think you'll find her to be a very impressive young woman who strongly supports children's and women's rights.

A fascinating post, Charlotte, really appreciate this influx of news as the European royals get back to work. Madeleine's work with Childhood USA is the sort of work I had hoped to see Kate involved in, still may, hopefully. Madeleine and Silvia both look very nice and relaxed.

  3. I don't know too terribly much about Princess Madeline or the Swedish Royal family but I have always though she was particularly down to earth and the whole family seems lovely! Thanks for the wonderful post!
