Newlyweds Latest + An Engagement For Luxembourg Royals

Hello Royal watchers,

Tonight we're going to take a look at the latest news from the Luxembourg royal family. I must admit I knew practically nothing about the family until the much publicised wedding of Prince Guillame, the heir to the throne - the Grand Duke to be - and Belgian Countess Stephanie de Lannoy in October.

The wedding took place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Luxembourg and the ceremony was conducted in a mixture of French and English and quite poignantly featured a minute's silence for Stephanie's late mother, Countess Alix de Lannoy. A lovely touch I thought.

Luxembourg is a small but wealthy country and the wedding made headlines globally. 28-year-old Stephanie looked beautiful in an Elie Saab creation with a four metre train and silk tulle veil adorned with a silver floral motif.

So, what happened after the royal wedding? Let's take a look at a couple of Guillame and Stephanie's latest engagements. Guillame chaired an economic delegation to People's Republic of China accompanied by Stephanie who looked striking in a red dress. The main objectives of the economic mission are prospecting for new economic ties between enterprises of Luxembourg and China.

Yesterday, TRH The Grand Duke and The Grand Duchess and the Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess Heir (Guillame and Stephanie's official titles for those of you unfamiliar with them) met with representatives of the European Institutions, the heads of diplomatic missions resident in Luxembourg and members of the house of Their Royal Highnesses.

Stephanie looked radiant in a white and black dress. I really like her style. It's youthful, fresh whilst remaining sophisticated and appropriate for royal engagements. She and Guillame appear very much in love :)

It would seem Prince Guillaime's younger brother Prince Feilx enjoyed his brother's wedding so much it inspired him to propose to his girlfriend Claire Lademacher.

Felix introduced his future bride to the world at a photo call for local and international journalists held in Luxembourg's Chateau de Berg. Members of both families attended included Feilx's parents Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duke Tereasa and of course Guiillame and Stephanie.

I think Claire and Feilx made a lovely couple. 27-year-old Claire is an heiress who grew up in Frankfurt. Her father generated a €600 million fortune thanks to investments in the software industry. The couple got to know each other as students in romantic cities such as Rome and Switzerland.

It is thought the couple will say "I do" in Claire's native Germany. Tradition states that nuptial's take place in the bride's homeland (Guillame and Stephanie's wedding was an exception). As of yet the date for the wedding has not been announced. A royal wedding to look forward to this year along with Princess Madeleine's!
